Geospark Analytics Receives State Department Contract to Deploy Threat Assessment Platform

Geospark Analytics has received a four-year contract to help the State Department expand the use of a company-built artificial intelligence-based platform for assessing global threats and risks.

The department intends to deploy the Hyperion technology to monitor and forecast emerging events in real time as part of diplomatic security missions worldwide, Geospark Analytics said Wednesday.

“This expanded agreement will bring the department the most cutting-edge AI-driven technology to ensure the safety and security of their people, operations and missions across the world,” said Geospark Analytics President John Goolgasian.

The award comes after the Bureau of Diplomatic Security completed a yearlong evaluation of the platform, which is designed to analyzes risk and threat information using news, social media, travel warnings and other data collected from over 6.8 million sources.

In September 2020, the company won a potential five-year, $95 million contract to pursue technology commercialization work for the third phase of the U.S. Space Force’s Small Business Innovation Research program.
