Elbit Systems to Produce Helmet Mounted Systems for Army Apache Pilots; Raanan Horowitz Quoted

The U.S. Army has awarded Elbit Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary a potential five-year, $76 million contract to manufacture helmet mounted systems for AH-64 Apache helicopter pilots to view flight and targeting data in front of their eyes.

Elbit Systems of America received a two-year, $6 million initial delivery order for Integrated Helmet And Display Sight Systems under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the company said Wednesday.

Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America, said the award would continue the company’s decadelong work on the Army’s Apache fleet.

He added that information from the IHADSS offers military aircraft crew situational awareness when they perform missions.

The company will supply the systems from its production and engineering facility in Fort Worth, Texas, and is also a supplier of mission processor technology for the Apache AH-64E variant.
