Karman Missile & Space Systems, a portfolio company of Trive Capital, has acquired Systima Technologies for an undisclosed sum to expand its client base and core competencies to facilitate the delivery of comprehensive platforms to clients in hypersonic and space markets.
Systima provides energetic systems for space launch vehicles and hypersonic platforms and composite structures for missile and launch systems, Trive said Friday.
“Systima’s robust engineering capabilities allow Karman to work collaboratively with our customers at an earlier stage of a platform’s development to identify the ways that Karman can add value,” said Karman CEO Tony Koblinski.
Los Angeles-based Karman supplies mission-critical flight hardware and subassemblies to missile, hypersonic and space markets. The company also provides precision machining, high temperature and structural composite material processing, large part forming, design and engineering services.
The acquisition marks the fifth transaction Trive has closed in the past year to further build up its Karman business. Systima’s leadership team will continue to serve as equity holders and senior leaders at Karman.
KAL Capital served as Systima’s adviser, while D.A. Davidson acted as adviser to Karman in the transaction.
