The Department of Homeland Security’s chief human capital officer will keynote an Oct. 7 virtual forum hosted by the Potomac Officers Club to give her perspective on the potential implications of a hybrid workforce model for government agencies.
Angela Bailey was appointed to the DHS CHCO position in January 2016 after her two-year tenure as chief operating officer at the Office of Personnel Management. She also served as associate director for employee services at OPM and director of human resources at the Defense Contract Management Agency.
She told Federal News Network in an interview that DHS pursued a hands-on approach to stay connected to its workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic and implemented a program meant to help employees and their family members understand telework arrangements.
Chrissy Cocrane, vice president of management advisory services at LMI, will deliver the keynote introduction and act as Q&A moderator at POC’s “Optimizing the Hybrid Workforce” forum.
Bailey’s address to the event will be followed by a panel discussion of the blended work model and the role of data analytics in workforce management. LMI executive Shaye Brotherton will moderate an expert panel that includes NASA CHCO Jane Datta; chief information officer of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and Ronald Sanders, staff director of the Florida Center for Cybersecurity.
