FireEye to Adopt ‘Mandiant’ as Corporate Name; Kevin Mandia Quoted

FireEye (Nasdaq: FEYE) will change its name to Mandiant on Oct. 4 and start trading under the ticker symbol “MNDT” on Oct. 5.

“Given the pending sale of the FireEye Products business to Symphony Technology Group, this year’s Cyber Defense Summit is an ideal time to rename and relaunch the company as Mandiant,” FireEye CEO Kevin Mandia said in a statement published Wednesday.

In June, a consortium led by private equity firm STG agreed to acquire FireEye’s products business, including the FireEye name, for approximately $1.2 billion in cash in a transaction that is expected to close by the end of the fourth quarter of 2021.

“Mandiant is focused on helping every organization improve its security posture and better navigate today’s cyber threat landscape,” added Mandia.

The company will launch at the annual summit its Mandiant Advantage SaaS platform designed to scale its threat intelligence capability to deliver cyber defense platforms to organizations.
