5 Contractors to Provide Agencies With Coworking Spaces Under GSA Deal

The General Services Administration has selected five companies to provide the federal government with flexible coworking services under a potential $50 million Indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

Liquidspace, Deskpass, Novel Coworking, The Yard Operating Company and WeWork Commons will have workspaces available for GSA client agencies at the contractors’ respective locations in Idaho, Chicago and New York, according to an award notice posted Aug. 19 on SAM.

In its earlier request for proposal, GSA expressed a need for commercially available shared spaces to support its Total Workplace Program that caters to agencies seeking temporary coworking environment. The effort is aimed at enabling employees to work beyond traditional government offices and providing them with the space tailored in alignment with business operations and needs.

Contractors will also provide telecommunications, secured wireless internet and other services and amenities required for teleworking.

The multiple-award IDIQ has options that, if exercised, will extend the contract duration to six years and six months. Each contractor has a $10 million award ceiling.
