ViON has secured a potential nine-year, $187 million contract to help the Internal Revenue Service manage compute and storage systems.
The company said Tuesday it will support the operation and maintenance of IRS information technology infrastructure in on-premise and cloud environments as part of the agency’s Managed Infrastructure Data Service program.
Herndon, Virginia-based ViON seeks to address MIDS program requirements through a partnership with Perspecta, now part of Peraton.
Tom Frana, Chairman and CEO of ViON and a two-time Wash100 Award recipient, pointed to the implementation of a virtual tape system at the IRS as among the company’s previous technology projects with the agency.
He added that the IT provider has supported government customers for more than two decades and delivered managed services to the federal sector via contracts worth more than $1.3 billion combined.
The contract has one base year and eight option years.
