The U.S. Air Force has released a request for proposals for a potential $4.79 billion contract vehicle for services related to research, development and sustainment of hardware and software capabilities to support the intelligence production requirements of the military branch, Department of Defense and intelligence community.
The NOVASTAR indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will be a total small business set-aside program and the serviceâs National Air and Space Intelligence Center plans to select about six vendors for the multiple-award IDIQ contract, according to a notice posted Friday in the SAM website.
The NASIC also needs contract support for technical intelligence production through collection, planning, processing, analysis, dissemination, archiving and related activities for the center, Air Force, DOD and national-level intelligence efforts.
NASIC classified NOVASTARâs scope of work into four areas: research, development, sustainment and production. Research activities include investigation, prototyping, verification and documentation. Development work cover systems and software engineering, analysis, installation and deployment and documentation. Sustainment work includes preventative, adaptive and emergency maintenance, while production activities include tasking and collection, processing and dissemination.
Proposals are due Aug. 31.
The solicitation came a year after the service issued a request for information for the NOVASTAR program.
