Aerospace Corp. has announced the election of Stephanie O’Sullivan, former Office of the Director of National Intelligence official, as chair of its board of trustees and Paul Selva, former head of the U.S. Transportation Command, as vice chair.
The company said Thursday the board also welcomed Jim Bridenstine, former NASA administrator, and David Norquist, former deputy secretary of the Department of Defense, as new trustees.
O’Sullivan joined the Aerospace board in June 2017 and assumed the vice chairmanship in December 2019. She has extensive experience in serving multiple roles with the intelligence community, including as principal deputy director of national intelligence and associate deputy director of the CIA.
Selva, on the other hand, was elected to join the board in December 2019. He retired from military service as the 10th vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His almost four-decade U.S. Air Force career includes numerous roles in staff, leadership and command.
Steve Isakowitz, president and CEO of Aerospace, said O’Sullivan and Selva contribute insight about customer requirements to the board. On the appointment of Bridenstine and Norquist, Isakowitz commented, “Each is a highly respected leader in his own right, and together they deepen Aerospace’s expertise across both the national security and civil sectors as we work to integrate and strengthen activities across all space sectors.”
At NASA, Bridenstine led the roll out of the Artemis Program, a new human lunar exploration mission, and oversaw the continued commercial resupply of the International Space Station through partnerships with industry players. He was the representative for Oklahoma’s first congressional district before he joined the space agency.
Meanwhile, Norquist managed DOD’s budget, business operations and acquisition efforts during his time as deputy secretary of defense from 2019 to early 2021. He also served as acting secretary of defense while the Senate worked on the nomination of current Secretary Lloyd Austin.
Bridenstine started term June 8 and Norquist will join Sept. 8.
