General Atomics Buys Analytics Company CCRi; Baird’s John Song Comments

General Atomics has acquired analytics and software engineering services provider Commonwealth Computer Research Inc. for an undisclosed sum in a move to help increase government customers’ access to situational awareness data.

Charlottesville, Virginia-based CCRi works with public and private sector clients to help them adopt big data management platforms designed to generate activity-based intelligence for multiple operations, General Atomics said Friday.

Investment bank Baird served as CCRi’s exclusive financial adviser in the sale process.

John Song, a Baird managing director and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, told GovCon Wire the deal would combine CCRi’s global situational awareness services with General Atomics’ intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance offerings.

Neal Blue, chairman, president and CEO of General Atomics and a previous Wash100 awardee, said he expects CCRi to continue its work in the defense and intelligence sectors following the acquisition.
