The General Services Administration will offer a 180-day extension for entities whose registrations on the agency’s federal contracting website are expiring between April 1 and Sept. 30 as part of an effort to reduce burden during the implementation of the American Rescue Plan Act.
GSA said Monday the extension will be implemented automatically and will not require any action from registrants.
The agency noted that the new expiration dates will reflect in the SAM website’s entity management extracts and will be available through online services once the records are extended.
GSA will send emails to entity administrators as part of the move, which will not affect first time registrants during the time frame.
In February, GSA announced plans to implement an identity proofing tool as part of new security updates to the SAM website.
