Salesforce’s Kristen Sanders, Jennifer Ward: Integrated Platform Could Help Agencies Transform Digital Service Delivery

Kristen Sanders and Jennifer Ward of Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) said adopting an integrated platform as part of digital transformation efforts could help government agencies improve citizen experience and empower employees to carry out their jobs.

“Delivering public-sector services through modern and connected digital channels allows agencies to address current needs while ensuring long-term mission delivery,” Sanders and Ward wrote. “And to both meet constituent demands and empower employees to do their jobs in a digital environment, in the field or in person.”

They noted that agencies can streamline complex processes and enable their workforce to perform their tasks by “investing in a unified cloud-based platform model.”

Ward and Sanders cited as an example the Douglas-Omaha Technology Commission in Nebraska, which transitioned its applications to the cloud as part of its information technology modernization effort in order to provide citizens and employees with better digital experiences.

They also discussed how agile technology could benefit agencies as they advance their digital transformation efforts.

“Agencies that succeed at digital transformation leverage agile technology that enables them to get up and running quickly,” they noted. “Successful agencies make sure that IT and the other lines of business are in agreement on priorities and the overall strategy for service delivery from the beginning.”

Sanders is regional vice president of strategy at Salesforce. Ward is VP of solution engineering for the company’s global public sector.
