Alion Science and Technology has secured a five-year, $39 million task order to deliver Rapid Technical Collection and Demonstration for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) Fleet Innovation Team (FIT), the company reported on Monday.
“Alion will leverage its expertise in research, rapid prototyping, technical development and integration to provide cost-effective emerging technology recommendations for the operation and enhancement of technical collection capabilities and counter-collection capabilities for the warfighter,” said Alan Dietrich, SVP of Alion’s ISR Group.
Under the task order, Alion will perform system analysis, functional allocations, synthesis and evaluation efforts to deliver an effective, affordable and operable system in support of NAWCWD and its partners.
Alion will integrate and coordinate systems and subsystems to provide rapid Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E) to critical operations for technical collection of intelligence across the Fleet Innovation Team mission area.
“Alion’s ISR and sensor technology will play a key role in developing advanced, innovative solutions that are essential in identifying threats and implementing countermeasures to hostile ISR systems,” Dietrich added.
Alion was awarded this contract under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoD IAC) multiple-award contract (MAC) vehicle. The company has also received a previous task order under DoD IAC MAC vehicle in Oct. 2020.
Under the prior five-year, $29 million task order, Alion will provide Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Technology Analysis for Spectrum Supportability and Broadband Support Headquarters to the Department of the Army (HQDA) Chief Information Officer (CIO/G6) Army Spectrum Management Office (ASMO).
The company’s efforts will help the Army defend access to the EMS, which will support U.S. Army capabilities. Alion will analyze and research efforts to help the service branch retain spectrum for military use and improve EMS.
