Honeywell Gets $1B Army Contract Modification for Main Battle Tank Engine Support

Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) has secured a $1.1B contract modification to provide the U.S. Army automotive gas turbine engines for battle tanks.

Army Contracting Command expects the company to finish work on the Automotive Gas Turbine 1500 engine contract modification by Sept. 30, 2025, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

AGT1500 is designed to produce 1.5K horsepower and propel the 72-ton military ground vehicle at a speed of up to 42 miles per hour, according to Honeywell.

The company has supported the Army’s total integrated engine revitalization program – also known as TIGER – over the past decade.
