Raytheon Technologies Books $99M SOCOM Aircraft Mission Processor Supply Contract

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has secured a potential seven-year, $99M contract to build special mission processors for the U.S. Special Operations Command's MC-130J Commando II and AC-130J Ghostrider aircraft platforms.

The company will provide SMP technology to facilitate integration between AC/MC-130J controls and tactical mission systems being used by special operations forces, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

SOCOM will obligate $9.9M at the time of award and expects work under the follow-on production contract to conclude in December 2027.

The command awarded Sierra Nevada Corp. a separate $700M contract in July to produce radio frequency countermeasure systems to help  AC/MC-130J aircrews defend against enemy radar and missile systems.
