A joint venture between Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Textron‘s (NYSE: TXT) Bell subsidiary will manufacture and deliver one CMV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft to the U.S. Navy as part of a $170.4M contract modification.
The service branch also exercised options for Bell Boeing Joint Project Office to address Lot 4 Common Configuration Readiness and Modernization requirements for the V-22 multirole combat aircraft, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
DoD added the modification includes delivery of shipping and storage containers and tooling along with inspection and repair support services.
Naval Air Systems Command will initially obligate a total of $94.3M in fiscal 2021 operation, maintenance and aircraft procurement funds. Work will take place in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, and Fort Worth, Texas, through September 2024.
