Final RFP for $11.7B Defense Enclave Services Contract Inches Closer to Release

The Department of Defense plans to release by the second week of December the final solicitation for the potential $11.7B Defense Enclave Services network consolidation contract, C4ISRNET reported Thursday.

ā€œWeā€™re anticipating the final release next week,ā€ Don Means, national leadership command capabilities executive at the Defense Information Systems Agency, told reporters Thursday.

The DES contract seeks to consolidate disparate information technology systems at DoDā€™s 22 ā€œfourth estateā€ agencies under a single service provider.

DISA expected to issue the final request for proposals in late September but decided to push back the release of the RFP to mid-late first quarter of fiscal year 2021.

Danielle Metz, acting deputy chief information officer for information enterprise at DoD, said Dana Deasy, CIO at DoD and a two-time Wash100 Award winner, had to conduct an additional review of the DES program as a standard practice, resulting in the delay in the final solicitation's release.
