Electromagnetic spectrum technology maker Pacific Defense has acquired Nashua, New Hampshire-based Spear Research for an undisclosed sum as part of the former’s push to expand its military open-systems portfolio.
Pacific Defense said Thursday the acquisition will support the El Segundo, California-based firm’s development of architectures that are designed to comply with the U.S. military's open standards and specifications.
Spear Research focused on developing and engineering radar, electronic warfare, cyber, signals intelligence and communications systems.
Pacific Defense plans to integrate offerings from the acquired business into its Perceptronics and Spectranetix products in efforts to drive the adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning-based RF systems in the domestic and international defense sectors.
HCI Equity Partners and Emerald Lake Capital Management are Pacific Defense's lead investors.
