Collins Aerospace Books $700M Air Force Ejection Seat Production IDIQ

Collins Aerospace has secured a potential 10-year, $700M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Air Force to qualify, manufacture and field ejection seat systems for the branch’s mission defense platforms.

USAF will obligate $5.2M in fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of Next Generation Ejection Seat program award, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Work is slated to run through Oct. 22, 2030, and will take place in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The service first indicated its intent to award Collins Aerospace a sole-source contract in November 2019 to update ACES II ejection seats currently installed on military aircraft such as A-10, B-1, F-15, F-16 and F-22.
