An Antenna Research Associates subsidiary has been awarded a potential five-year, $33M contract from the U.S. Space Force to support a one-way wideband service for military communications.
AQYR Technologies, which ARA acquired in July, will supply products and services to the Global Broadcast Service under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the company said.
“With this award to AQYR, our antenna systems portfolio in satcom market is further expanded to include satcom ground terminals and program support," said Logen Thiran, president and CEO of ARA.
Contract work will take place at a company facility in Nashua, New Hampshire.
According to USSF, the GBS system is designed to help the Department of Defense and other government agencies transmit data and video communications via more than 1K deployed receive suites worldwide.
