The State Department has cleared a potential $401.3M foreign military sale of follow-on contractor logistics support for the U.K. government’s C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft.
Boeing (NYSE: BA) will serve as the prime contractor for the FMS transaction covering the delivery of C-17 spare parts and repair components, technical documentation, engineering, software support and program management assistance, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
The T-tailed, four-engine airlifter is built to transport large cargo to harsh terrain and small airfields.
DSCA noted it does not expect the proposed sale to change the region’s the basic military balance or affect U.S. military readiness.
