QuantiTech Buys Spaceflight Engineering Firm DCI; Darryl Wortman Quoted

QuantiTech, a technical engineering services provider to the government sector, has purchased Dynamic Concepts Inc. for an undisclosed sum in a move to expand work with NASA across human spaceflight programs.

Both companies are headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, and seek to leverage DCI's software, simulation and systems design services to support government space missions, QuantiTech said Monday.

Darryl Wortman, president and CEO of QuantiTech said, the deal marks the company's first acquisition since it received an investment from New York-based private equity firm Sagewind Capital.

DCI primarily offers support to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, Johnson Space Center and Glenn Research Center.

According to QuantiTech, it is part of a Science Applications International Corp.-led (NYSE: SAIC) industry team that won the $292M NASA Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract II.
