Applied Composites Holdings, a portfolio company of private equity firm AE Industrial Partners, has made its fifth acquisition with its purchase of composite structures provider Alliance Spacesystems for an undisclosed sum.
Los Alamitos, California-based Alliance Spacesystems designs and manufactures antenna reflectors, payload structures for satellite buses, booms, composite structures for launch vehicles and other composite assemblies for the government, civil and commercial satellite market, Applied Composites said Wednesday.
Alliance’s customers include Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Boeing (NYSE: BA), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and Ball Aerospace.
David Horner, CEO of Applied Composites, said the company is excited to add Alliance’s line of composite products and services and space heritage.
"Interest and investment in the space industry is at an all-time high, and we look forward to working closely with the Alliance team as we look for ways to meet this growing demand and better serve our customers,” Horner added.
Kirkland & Ellis and RSM respectively served as legal and financial advisers to Applied Composites. KippsDeSanto & Co. advised Alliance on the deal’s financial aspect, while Blank Rome acted as legal adviser.
