Michael Buscher, chief growth officer of NuWave Solutions, told Government Matters in a video interview posted Thursday about the trend towards information dominance and how an overwhelming amount of data drives that trend within the Department of Defense, intelligence community and civilian agencies.
He responded to a question about the difference in information dominance between the warfighting domain and civilian mission execution landscape. He said that DoD and IC use and bring data to “decision path” quickly in order to gain competitive advantage over adversaries, while civilian agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs leverage data to improve the services they provide and how they do business.
In addition to cloud computing, Buscher said artificial intelligence and machine learning could help advance information dominance.
“Technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning are key to that information dominance strategy and the cloud underpins all that,” he said.
Buscher also mentioned how such tech platforms could help facilitate access to data.
“As we see civilian agencies moving to the cloud, they may not entirely understand or appreciate the need to collate in a centralized location, but when you are adopting technologies like AI and ML like we do at NuWave Solutions, we are able to provide for your organization is taking the data that you have already collected and making it accessible. This is not just for decision makers, it’s for everyone to be able to access that information and improve how they do business each and every day,” he said.
