Leidos Wins $649M SOCOM ISR Support Task Order; Gerry Fasano Quoted
Leidos has been awarded a $649 million task order under the U.S. Army’s Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services contract to provide follow-on operations and support services to the Special Operations Command’s Tactical Airborne Multi-Sensor Platforms mission, the company announced Monday. Leidos will provide pilot services, airborne sensor operators, hub and spoke operations/excursion support, staffing for the Intelligence Coordination Center, system training, logistics for the DHC- 8 and King Air 300 aircraft.
KBR Announces Transition Into Two-Segment Business Model; Stuart Bradie Quoted
KBR has finalized its portfolio review and is consolidating its three business segments into two segments – technology solutions and government solutions – as part of a restructuring effort. CISA Launches Cyber Career Tool for Professionals
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has rolled out a tool to help current and future professionals determine, build and navigate their potential cyber career pathways. The Cyber Career Pathways Tool is developed to assist users in understanding the skills, knowledge and capabilities required to take or elevate their careers.
The U.S. Air Force has indicated its intent to solicit design proposals from Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies for a hypersonic cruise missile technology that can be launched from a fighter or a bomber aircraft. The service branch is asking all three contractors to submit statements that will describe their capabilities to build and integrate a solid rocket booster-powered missile system, according to a presolicitation notice.
KBR to Support US Navy Construction Projects in Djibouti, Africa
KBR has won a potential five-year, $75M contract from the U.S. Navy to support construction projects at a naval expeditionary base and a military airstrip located in Djibouti, Africa. The company will repair, renovate, maintain, alter, demolish or build structures at Camp Lemonnier and Chabelley Air Field through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
NNSA Readies Solicitation for Potential $28B Nuclear Security Site Mgmt Contract
The National Nuclear Security Administration has indicated its intent to launch a full and open competition for a 10-year, $28B contract for management and operating support to two nuclear weapons facilities in Texas and Tennessee. NNSA expects to issue a final request for proposals for the follow-on Y-12 National Security Complex and Pantex Plant support contract in the first quarter of the governmen’s 2021 fiscal year.
Potomac Officers Club Hosts Weaponizing Data Across the Digital Battlefield Virtual Event Featuring MG Peter Gallagher, BG Rob Collins, Leonel Garciga and Alan Hansen of U.S. Army
On Tuesday, Potomac Officers Club (POC) hosted the latest virtual event in its Future Battlefield Series: Weaponizing Data Across the Digital Battlefield to explore and inform the government contracting (GovCon) community about the current initiatives and modernization plans for the U.S. Army.

MG Peter Gallagher, director of the Army’s Network Cross-Functional Team and BG Rob Collins, program executive officer for Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T) gave a joint-opening keynote address for the event.
In addition, Leonel Garciga, director of Information Management for the Army, and Alan Hansen, director of Intelligence Systems & Processing (ISP) at the RDECOM Intelligence & Information Warfare Directorate, both delivered their own keynotes discussing the U.S. Army’s need to leverage and integrate the latest emerging technologies to deliver more secure solutions.
Later this month, Potomac Officers Club will host the 5th Annual Army Forum on August 27th featuring Bruce Jette, assistant secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient, will serve as the keynote speaker.
The virtual event will also feature a full expert panel of highly-ranked executives from across the federal sector, including: BG Anthony Potts, Mike Wells of Vectrus, Joel Babbitt and Keith Krapels of the U.S. Army as well as Tony Frazier of Maxar Technologies and four-time Wash100 Award recipient. Kevin Leonard, senior vice president of Contingency Operations for Vectrus will serve as the panel’s moderator.
