Navy Picks 5 Firms for Potential $165M Fleet Modernization, Logistics IDIQ

Five companies have won contracts with a total potential value of $165.1M to provide program management and technical services to support modernization efforts for the U.S. Army and Navy’s assault craft, submarines and surface ships.

Contract work covers a range of logistics and operational assistance for equipment and subsystems such as electrical components installed onto the military vessels, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

The companies will also perform testing and refurbishment work for in-service assets in addition to fleet support and other contractor services for afloat units.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division received 10 bids for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award through an online solicitation process and will obligate fiscal 2020 Navy funds upon issuance of each task order.

Eighty-six percent of contract services will take place at contractor facilities and the remaining 14 percent in Philadelphia, Pa., through July 2026.

The awardees and contract details are as follows:

  • Continental Tide Defense Systems – $31.8M
  • Gibbs & Cox – $33.5M
  • McKean Defense Group – $31.5M
  • NDI Engineering – $33.7M
  • Q.E.D. Systems – $30.4M
