The U.S. Air Force has awarded Carnegie Mellon University a five-year, $2.7B contract modification to continue managing a federally funded research and development center that works on computing software platforms.
CMU will also develop software and cybersecurity methods at the Department of Defense-sponsored Software Engineering Institute in Pennsylvania, DoD said Wednesday.
USAF initially awarded a $732M contract to the university in July 2015. The exercised option brings the contract’s potential total value to $3.43B and runs through June 30, 2025.
