Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has landed a potential five-year, $93M contract from the U.S. Army to manufacture a multipurpose munition technology for destroying targets such as lightly armored infantry vehicles, petroleum storage systems and parked aircraft.
The company will provide M4A1 Selectable Lightweight Attack Munitions along with M320A1 SLAM trainer kits under the firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
DoD expects work to be finished by June 29, 2025.
According to the Army, SLAM devices are designed to use an explosively formed penetrator warhead and operate in bottom-attack, timed-demolition, operator-initiated and side-attack mode.
