Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has appointed Dantaya Williams as chief human resources officer to lead its global HR function, the company announced Wednesday.
"With over 20 years at the company, Dantaya will leverage her skills and experience to lead a dynamic and global HR function that is critical to establishing Raytheon Technologies as the premier employer in aerospace and defense worldwide," added Hayes
Williams will bring extensive knowledge in Human Resource, Labor Relations and Talent Management to Raytheon Technologies. She joined United Technologies Corp. (UTC) at the Carrier division as a labor relations representative in 1999.
Under Williams’ leadership, UTC established the Talent, Inclusion and Engagement organization in February 2014. In this role she was responsible for accelerating UTC’s global strategies involving diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, talent acquisition and talent development.
"Dantaya has a proven track record in leading transformation throughout our organization with a focus on the development of innovative talent strategies to drive business growth," said Greg Hayes, chief executive officer of Raytheon Technologies.
She also supported the Paradigm for Parity, a coalition of business leaders dedicated to addressing the corporate leadership gender gap. She advocated for women of color to be mentored, sponsored and provided development opportunities necessary to advance under the coalition.
Williams’ efforts spearheaded the inclusion of women in leadership positions. Now, 30 percent of the executive leadership team throughout Commercial Engines, Pratt & Whitney and UTC are represented by women. In 2016, Williams was appointed vice president of Human Resources for Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney.
Prior to her role at Pratt & Whitney, Williams was UTC's vice president of talent, inclusion and engagement where she was responsible for accelerating the company's global talent strategy. Williams spent more than a decade with former UTC business Carrier Corporation in labor relations, progressively increasing her responsibility within the HR organization.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources both from Michigan State University where she now serves as vice chair on the advisory board of the University’s School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
Williams will replace Doug Balsbough, who is retiring from the company after guiding the HR function through the closing of the merger of Raytheon Company and United Technologies (UTC). In his prior assignment, Balsbough successfully managed the integration of Rockwell Collins with UTC Aerospace Systems division.
