The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences has landed a potential five-year, $900M contract to continue managing a contracting program that allows commercial and academic organizations to develop sustainment tools and processes for the Department of Defense.
This marks the fourth cooperative agreement NCMS received to serve as DoD's managing partner for the Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities program, the center said Tuesday.
NCMS functions as a cross-industry technology development consortium and offers collaborative opportunities to build platforms designed to help the department maintain weapon systems through CTMA.
The group noted it has approximately 5K technology partners nationwide and has helped manage the program over the past 22 years.
