Executive Mosaic is happy to present Jim Reagan, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Leidos, as an inductee into the 2020 Wash100 Award for securing major contract awards and acquisitions to drive company growth and expand Leidos’ portfolio in the federal sector.
This marks the fifth consecutive Wash100 Award for Reagan. He secured a 2019 Wash100 Award for his role with Leidos and financial expertise to drive significant value and deliver results for the company. Reagan oversees all financial activities for Leidos, including accounting and financial reporting, treasury, tax, planning and analysis, and investor relations.
In Feb. 2019, Reagan indicated that Leidos would pursue potential acquisitions of products companies rather than those that offer services only. He explained that the company looks toward either pure products businesses or companies that provide a combination of products and services, with the goal to complement existing capabilities and drive inorganic growth.
Most notably, Leidos agreed to acquire Dynetics, a technology services contractor from Huntsville, Ala., for $1.65 billion in Dec. 2019 to expand its portfolio of offerings and further build up its position in intelligence, civil and defense markets.
“Dynetics is an innovative company with a talented team that will deepen our identity as a national security systems provider and enhance our platform to deliver sustainable, profitable growth,” said Roger Krone, chairman and CEO of Leidos and a fellow 2020 Wash100 Award winner.
Space solutions and hypersonics comprise about 25 percent of Dynetics’ overall revenue, which is where Reagan believes the company will offer the most synergies with Leidos. “The engineering and high-end technology opportunities that we see there are really going to spring from the technological capabilities that Dynetics brings to us,” he said.
Under Reagan’s leadership, the company also secured a potential 15-year, $1 billion contract to update the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) digital flight briefing service with aeronautical and weather data as well as flight planning support features.
Work under the follow-on contract builds on FAA’s Automated Flight Service Station award, which Leidos secured in 2005 and covered support of the 1800wxbrief portal for flight services and self-service features to users within the contiguous U.S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
In addition, the company received a potential $445.4 million contract in Sept. 2019 to provide information technology support for the U.S. Air Force’s classified and unclassified networks. The company will perform a range of IT services at Air Force locations within the National Capital Region including the Pentagon building, Joint Base Andrews and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.
Leidos also ranked 16th among 113 for-profit companies on the Military Times’ Best for Vets Employer List last year. It marked the sixth straight year the company appeared on the list, which evaluates for-profit, nonprofit and government organizations based on “their support, recruitment, and care for military veterans, service members, and their families.”
Executive Mosaic congratulates Leidos and Jim Reagan for his fifth consecutive Wash100 Award. His commitment to drive company growth has cemented Leidos as a major player in the federal sector into 2020 and beyond.
