Executive Mosaic is honored to present Craig Abod, president of Carahsoft Technology, as an inductee of the 2020 Wash100 Award for his dedication to company expansion and revenue through securing major contract awards and developing close partnerships within the sector.
This marks the sixth overall Wash100 Award for Abod. He secured his 2019 Wash100 Award for delivering IT platforms and expanding opportunities in the federal marketplace. Throughout 2018, Carahsoft expanded its IT products and services to federal, state and local government agencies through partnerships with select technology vendors.
Abod has continued his dedication to modernize IT and grow Carahsoft’s revenue throughout 2019. Most notably, Abod led the company through the potential 10-year, $820.4 million Enterprise Software Initiative blanket purchase agreement in Sept. 2019.
The Enterprise Software Initiative contract vehicle covers asset management products and information technology support in line with requirements under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act. Under the contract, Abod will continue to provide IT support and asset management products to the Department of Defense, U.S. Coast Guard and intelligence communities.
“Carahsoft is proud to support the DoD and intelligence sector,” said Abod.
Abod has continued to drive company revenue through additional IT service contracts including the potential $247.7 million basic ordering agreement (BOA) to provide cloud migration and IT modernization support to the U.S. Army in July 2019.
According to Abod, the Army Cloud Computing Enterprise Transformation award serves as “an important step in the Army’s transition to the cloud and the larger drive toward deploying cloud services across the government.”
Not only has Abod had a hand in securing valuable contract awards to expand the company, but he has also driven growth through developing close partnerships within the industry. In Oct. 2019, Carahsoft collaborated with Foster City, Calif.-based firm, Qualys, to offer an IT asset discovery and inventory tool for public sector operations.
The Global IT Asset Discovery and Inventory application uses scanners, passive network sensors and cloud agents to gather and analyze data from hybrid environments to provide security compliance information
Abod also forged a new relationship with also added Hoboken, N.J.-based company, Effectual, in June 2019. Under the partnership, Abod and Effectual will mutually expand its cloud purchasing program.
Carahsoft will continue to utilize Effectual in its Cloud Purchasing Program and make the latter’s services available through the National Association of State Procurement Officials ValuePoint, NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement V and The Quilt purchasing vehicles.
Effectual will offer its AWS and VMWare migration and management, security and compliance and other cloud infrastructure-related services using Carahsoft’s pay-as-you-go online procurement framework in an effort to help government clients avoid “vendor lock” and extra costs.
Abod noted that the partnership will help public sector customers manage cloud deployments while optimizing data storage infrastructure and service delivery.
Abod helped the company close its third partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2019. AWS holds a Public Sector Distribution Program partnership with Carahsoft, also agreed to include its offerings in three more of the latter’s contract vehicles last year.
Executive Mosaic isn’t the only organization to have recognized Shea’s achievements across a variety of sectors. While the Wash100 Award is the most coveted and prestigious award that the GovCon industry has to offer, Abod’s achievements have led Carahsoft to receive multiple awards throughout the year.
In March 2019, Carahsoft received recognition throughout the government contracting industry for its workplace and growth efforts. The CollegeGrad job search website named Carahsoft as one of the top 100 entry-level employers for the 10th consecutive year.
In addition, Carahsoft was additionally named to Inc. magazine’s list of top 5,000 fastest-growing U.S. firms as well as CRN’s top 500 IT solutions providers list. For the second consecutive year, the Washington Business Journal selected Carahsoft as the top cybersecurity company in Washington, D.C.
“Our growth would not be possible without our commitment to supporting our partners throughout the public sector channel, including our government customers, IT solutions vendors and reseller ecosystem,” Abod said.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Carahsoft and Craig Abod for his 2020 Wash100 Award. Abod’s continued dedication to develop the company’s intelligence systems and influence proves that he is a notable figure in the GovCon sector and a leader in the industry.
