ST Engineering has partnered with the city of Pensacola in Florida to bring 1.7K aircraft maintenance jobs to the region, the Pensacola News Journal reported Tuesday.

The company has a paid educational program for student mechanics and previously offered aviation maintenance positions to George Stone Technical College students upon their graduation in May.

“This is a great opportunity for our local community as we create jobs and hire a skilled work force right here in Pensacola,” Tom Vecchiolla, president and CEO of ST Engineering's North American arm and former Wash100 winner, told GovCon Wire.

He added the company looks forward to continuing its professional relationship with the college.

Last week, ST Engineering secured an additional $4.8M from the local government to support the company’s estimated $210M campus expansion project at the Pensacola International Airport, the report noted.
