The U.S. Air Force has announced plans to award two sole-source contracts to Boeing (NYSE: BA) and General Electric (NYSE: GE) to support the upgrade of its F-15 fighter aircraft fleet.
A notice posted Jan. 23 says the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center intends to award Boeing an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to deliver new F-15EX aircraft and support modernization and sustainment work.
The IDIQ contract includes software and hardware design, installation of future modernization kits, product support, enhancements to the F-15E weapon system, structural and subsystem component production and test support.
AFLCMC said in a separate notice that intends to award GE Aviation a sole-source, IDIQ contract to supply F110 propulsion systems for the new F-15EX jets.
Responses to the proposed contract actions are due Feb. 7.
