DynCorp International has completed the initial transitions for the U.S. Army’s Aviation Field Maintenance II East and West contracts successfully, the company announced on Monday.
“We are very proud of our work to deliver readiness to the U.S. military and we are delighted to expand our support of Army aviation,” said George Krivo, CEO of DynCorp and two-time Wash100 Award recipient.
After completing the transition, DynCorp will now focus on program management, aircraft and ground support equipment maintenance, as well as aircraft modifications and other logistical support globally. The new structure combines five legacy programs into two and makes DynCorp International the Army’s largest provider of aviation maintenance services.
Transition for AFM West began on Oct. 1, 2019, and involved almost 600 personnel at eight Army bases around the world. The AFM East transition commenced Nov. 1, 2019, at 10 bases worldwide with nearly 1,600 personnel.
“With this combined program, we are supporting an exceptionally important mission. And in conjunction with other recent wins for the company, we were able to reach a record backlog of $6.9 billion in the third quarter of 2019.”
DynCorp received the AFM II West contract award on April 30, 2019. The company will deliver aviation field maintenance services in support of the U.S. Army’s AFM directorate under a potential $1.1 billion contract. The AFM II West contract covers sustainment-level maintenance, aircraft modifications, program management, logistical support as well as aircraft and ground support equipment maintenance.
The company announced the potential eight-year, $2.45 billion contract to provide aviation field maintenance and sustainment level maintenance services to the Army AFM II East on May 16, 2019. DynCorp will help manage AFMD programs, maintain aircraft and ground support equipment, modify aircraft platforms and perform logistical work in the East Region. The AFM II East contract has one base year and seven option years.
In addition to both AFM II regions, DynCorp International currently provides Contractor Logistics Support services to the Army’s Fixed Wing Transport aircraft fleet under a contract awarded in 2017 and was also awarded a seat on the Army’s Worldwide Logistics Support Services Contract in 2018.
