Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a one-year, $217.M contract modification to continue operating the payload of a U.S. Air Force system built to transmit voice, data and video across disparate networks.
The company will also support payload equipment and related services for the Battlefield Airborne Communication Node through the modification, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
DoD noted the total potential value of the contract is $570.1M.
The service branch will obligate $20M in fiscal 2020 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
Work will take place in San Diego and international locations through Jan. 23, 2021.
BACN is designed to integrate with the RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aerial system and help warfighters gain situational awareness in areas with limited line-of-sight communications.
