Pratt & Whitney Secures $456M Contract Modification for Lot 14 F-35 Propulsion Tech Engineering, Tooling Services

The U.S. Navy has awarded United Technologies Corp.’s (NYSE: UTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary a $455.5M contract modification to provide non-recurring engineering and tooling services for lot 14 aircraft propulsion systems.

Pratt & Whitney will engineer one F135-PW-600 and 32 F135-PW-100 systems for non-Department of Defense participants of the F-35 program, DoD said Friday.

Naval Air Systems Command is obligating $413M at the time of award.

Ninety-seven percent of contract work will take place in East Hartford, Conn., and the remaining three percent will occur in Indiana and the U.K.

The Pentagon expects Pratt & Whitney to conclude its services by April 2022.
