The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has created a set of best practices for smaller companies and government agencies to defend against cyber threats.
CISA partnered with state and local governments as well as the small business community to develop the Cyber Essentials guide, the Department of Homeland component said Wednesday.
Christopher Krebs, director of CISA and a 2019 Wash100 awardee, noted that guiding principles were designed for organizations that lack the proper resources to implement cybersecurity measures.
When it comes to collective defense, we are only as strong as our weakest link, which is why CISA is committed to raising the bar in cybersecurity across all companies and government, regardless of their size, Krebs added.
The two-part guide outlines courses of action for organization heads and information technology teams. Topics include cybersecurity strategy development, critical infrastructure protection and digital asset accessibility.
