Sikorsky Gets $107M Navy Contract Funds for Lot 4 CH-53K Long Lead Item Procurement

Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) Sikorsky subsidiary has secured a one-year, $107.3M contract modification from the U.S. Navy to obtain long lead items needed to manufacture a fourth batch of CH-53K King Stallion helicopters.

The modification will support low-rate initial production of six CH-53K heavy-lift cargo helicopters, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Work will take place in Stratford, Conn., through August 2020.

Sikorsly was awarded a $1.13B contract in May to produce 12 CH-53Ks under lots 2 and 3 as well as provide aircraft system spares and logistics support services.

The King Stallion helicopter is designed to carry troops and military equipment from vessels to shore areas and high-altitude terrains.
