TYSONS CORNER, VA, August 12, 2019 Mark Testoni, CEO of SAP National Security Services, has expressed concern over the level of threat that companies can face when insiders with technology talent move to breach systems and steal sensitive data, ExecutiveBiz reported Aug. 5.
Testoni, a four-time Wash100 Award winner, said in a Wall Street Journal report published July 31 that incidents such as the data breach at Capital One Financial revealed last month, where a software engineer working at a cloud services provider gained access to some of the bank’s customer accounts, point to a bigger concern because of the capability of the hacker.
“That is tough to prepare for because theyre more sophisticated than other insiders may be,” he said.
SAP NS2 noted in a related Facebook post dated July 31 that role-based access control, encryption and insider threat analysis can help advance threat detection and data protection at companies amid the potential security risk posed by insiders with “sophisticated” experience.
