Walden Security has won three contracts worth up to $491.2M from the U.S. Marshals Service to provide physical security services to court facilities within the 6th, 7th and 11th federal judicial circuits. The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based company received $201.5M to secure federal courts in the 6th circuit, as well as perform similar work in the 7th circuit for $93.3M and in the 11th circuit for $196.7M.
USMS enlists court security officers as special deputy U.S. marshals who are responsible for carrying firearms and detaining attendees at court proceedings until other law enforcement officers relieve them of their duties.
According to a FedBizOpps presolicitiation notice, the contractor will deploy equipment, materials and personnel who will undergo government-provided training via online and instructor-led education. The company must also provide a range of administrative support services including attendance tracking and record keeping as part of the agreement.
The 6th circuit covers Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee while the 7th circuit includes Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. States under the 11th circuit include Alabama, Florida and Georgia. USMS expects contract work to begin by Oct. 1.
