TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 10, 2019 BAE Systems will work to update radio-frequency processing equipment with machine learning technology, as well as deliver and demonstrate the resulting hardware products, under a $4.7M contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The program aims to enable machine learning algorithms to help discern radio-frequency signals in order to provide users in industry or the military with more accurate and automated situational information through the use of the Controllable Hardware Integration for Machine-learning Enabled Real-time Adaptivity reconfigurable platform, BAE said Monday.
“CHIMERA brings the flexibility of a software solution to hardware,” said Dave Logan, vice president and general manager of C4ISR systems at BAE.
“Machine-learning is on the verge of revolutionizing signals intelligence technology, just as it has in other industries.”
The CHIMERA systems control surfaces allow users to set their own parameters regarding the scope of the platforms work, depending on the requirements of the mission. In addition, CHIMERA features open architecture interfaces that will allow for further development.
