VT Systems will adopt the name ST Engineering North America and the group corporate brand, effective June 30.
The name and brand change reflect our focused effort to go to market as an international group that draws from the benefits of having both domestic and international expertise as well as global resources to deliver world class solutions and capabilities, Tom Vecchiolla, president and CEO of ST Engineerings VT Systems business, said in a statement published Tuesday.
Vecchiolla added the move seeks to better reflect our global resources that extend beyond our borders.
VT Systems subsidiaries will also adopt the new enterprise name and brand as part of the move, which came two months after VT Halter Marine secured a potential $1.94B contract to design and build up to three heavy polar icebreakers, Polar Security Cutter, for the U.S. Coast Guard.
Alexandria, Va.-based VT Systems is a subsidiary of Singapore-based ST Engineering and operates with approximately 5,000 employees and 15 operating units providing weapons and munitions systems, ship design and construction, network systems and aircraft maintenance and repair services to government and commercial clients across various market segments.
