General Dynamics Taps GE Additive to Explore 3D Printing of Combat Vehicle Parts


TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 24, 2019 ” General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) will utilize 3D printing in the production of metal parts for combat vehicles as part of a collaborative project with General Electric’s additive print services business, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

GE said Wednesday General Dynamics Land Systems awarded a contract to GE Additive for support in qualification, production, post-processing and inspection of those additively manufactured vehicle parts.

“We™ll continue teaming with leading suppliers such as GE Additive as we uncover additional applications for this exciting technology,” said Jason Deters, a specialist in process and technology development at General Dynamics.
