TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 6, 2019 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) established a new production line for the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft last month in South Carolina as it seeks to use the refurbished hangar as manufacturing base for the F-16 Block 70 later in the year, ExecutiveBiz reported April 24.
Michele Evans, executive vice president of Lockheed’s aeronautics business, said in a company press release issued April 23 the Greenville plant is “the new home of F-16 production,” with Lockheed transferring to this site the F-16 tooling and equipment previously installed at a facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
Lockheed anticipates more than 400 new jobs in the area to support the Greenville F-16 production line.
