Accenture-Led Team Wins Potential $2B DOE IT Support BPA; John Goodman Quoted

An industry team led by Accenture™s (NYSE: ACN) federal services unit won a potential five-year, $2B blanket purchase agreement to help the Department of Energy implement a cloud-based framework for information technology services.

Accenture said Monday it teamed up with General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), Unisys (NYSE: UIS) and Red River to accelerate DOE’s efforts to modernize IT infrastructure under the CIO Business Operations Support Services BPA.

“DOE has clearly charted a new course to get to the cloud ” one where the office of the CIO will embrace innovative approaches, new models, and emerging technologies to put its end-user customers at the center, said John Goodman, chief executive of Accenture Federal Services and a 2019 Wash100 winner.

Goodman added the company seeks to help the department secure its IT environment and manage missions with cloud technology.

Under CBOSS, AFS will provide general IT support, cybersecurity, telecommunications, systems architecture, engineering and other shared services.

Accenture plans to use its Federal Digital Studio in Washington, D.C., to support the department’s modernization goals.
