Huntington Ingalls Wins Potential $154M Contract for USS Rushmore Drydocking

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has won a potential $154.2M contract from the U.S. Navy to perform modernization, repair and maintenance work on USS Rushmore.

HII’s San Diego Shipyard business will implement fiscal 2019 drydock selected restricted availability of the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Naval Sea Systems Command received three offers for firm-fixed-price contract via a full and open competition that was conducted on a West coast-wide basis.

The Navy will obligate $118.4M in fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance and “other” procurement funds at time of award.

The base period of performance is scheduled to conclude in May 2020.

HII recently announced the promotion of Carlos Aguayo as general manager of the company’s shipyard business in San Diego.
