Northrop Gets $450M IDIQ to Produce Threat Simulation Platforms for US, Foreign Military Clients


A Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) subsidiary has received a potential seven-year, $450M contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide Joint Threat Emitter end-items, support equipment and spares for domestic and foreign military clients.

Northrop™s Amherst Systems business will also provide training and testing support under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

JTE is a mobile platform that works to simulate anti-aircraft artillery and surface-to-air missile threats to help train air crews and other military personnel to detect and counter integrated air defense systems, according to Northrop.

Work will occur in Buffalo, N.Y., and other locations in the U.S. and abroad through Dec. 5, 2025.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $9.1M in fiscal 2018 other procurement funds at the time of award.
