Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has purchased Annapolis Junction, Md.-based cybersecurity services provider G2 for an undisclosed amount in a move to grow its professional services business and portfolio of information assurance and cyber offerings.
HII said Monday it will integrate G2 into its technical solutions division led by Andy Green.
Financial services company Baird represented G2 in the deal.
This transaction represents companies looking for high-end, differentiated capabilities and solutions in key growth areas like cyber, John Song, a managing director at Baird, told GovCon Wire.
Huntington Ingalls is a great home for G2 to cross sell their capabilities and innovation to a much broader base of customers, Song added.
Green, president of HIIs technical solutions unit, said the company will leverage G2s capabilities and group of cyber professionals to expand its offerings to current agency customers.
G2 brings a valuable combination of innovation and technical expertise that has enabled it to solve complex security problems for highly sophisticated government clients, he noted.
G2 provides platforms and services across national cyber defense, cyber analytics, computer network exploitation and distributed analytics areas.
