Fibrotex USA is scheduled to begin full-rate production of the Ultra-Light Camouflage Netting System early in 2019 under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the company said Thursday.
ULCANS will have a reversible design to allow soldiers and military platforms to blend into the terrain or hide in woodland, snowy, desert and urban areas.
The system is customized for the Defense Department and designed to function in infrared, thermal and counter-radar engagements.
The Army awarded the contract after a nearly two-year competitive process that included assessments of multiple camouflage offerings against surveillance sensors used on the battlefield.
